Virgílio Calheiros kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Catarino Resende in the 4th minute of play forced SC Ariero's goalkeeper Gervásio Mafra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Marcus Maciel sped through SC Ariero's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gervásio Mafra. Gervásio Mafra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Maciel in the 11th minute of the match. Gervásio Mafra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Catarino Resende, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Maciel in the 19th minute of play forced SC Ariero's goalkeeper Gervásio Mafra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gervásio Mafra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Maciel in the 25th minute of the match. Amado Mafra's late challenge caught a Atlético CP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amado Mafra helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, SC Ariero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amado Mafra to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Alberto Pinto notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of SC Ariero's Gervásio Mafra. Gervásio Mafra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gervásio Mafra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Maciel, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Alberto Pinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, SC Ariero's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Maciel came free, but Gervásio Mafra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Amílcar Bessa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético CP's supporters rose to their feet, but Amílcar Bessa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gervásio Mafra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The SC Ariero players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Atlético CP were winning 0-2.

Gervásio Mafra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 53 minutes into the match, SC Ariero's goalkeeper Gervásio Mafra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Catarino Resende. Américo Amaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Gervásio Mafra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Barbosa hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Eduardo Gonçalves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Gervásio Mafra made a huge save. A well placed Marcus Maciel short distance shot in the 66th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. 71 minutes into the match, SC Ariero's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Maciel came free, but Gervásio Mafra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Atlético CP getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. José Mendes hit a great ball. Eduardo Gonçalves might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gervásio Mafra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eduardo Gonçalves ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcus Maciel was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. Atlético CP's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 86 played minutes Marcus Maciel rounded SC Ariero's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. 89 minutes into the match, Atlético CP's Américo Amaro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gervásio Mafra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcus Maciel in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gervásio Mafra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amílcar Bessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gervásio Mafra having to interfere. Atlético CP's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
