Spectators: 6673 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 0) SC Azores's Jarbas Aveiro started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 11 minutes into the match, SC Quintos's Tiago Freitas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Moita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Tiago Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SC Quintos booed when SC Azores was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertino Ferro in the 15th minute of play forced SC Azores's goalkeeper Ivan Moita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Albertino Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The long shot by Daniel Figueiredo in the 24th minute really tested Ivan Moita's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Tiago Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ivan Moita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jarbas Aveiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Vale having to interfere. Emanuel Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jarbas Aveiro's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Paulo Leal hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Tiago Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Ivan Moita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Azores's Américo Vilas Boas pulled a muscle in his leg after 40 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 40 minutes into the game, José Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Quintos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Azores the free kick. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Quintos! António Curado placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Jarbas Aveiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Ivan Moita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertino Ferro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute Albertino Ferro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Moita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SC Quintos's zone, Xavier Severo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Vale came out of the goal and Xavier Severo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute, Cristiano Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Freitas in the 72nd minute of play forced SC Azores's goalkeeper Ivan Moita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiago Freitas scored 2-0 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivan Moita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ivan Moita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertino Ferro in the 82nd minute of play. Tiago Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Albertino Ferro notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of SC Azores's Ivan Moita. Ivan Moita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
