Spectators: 7274 (Terracing: 5457, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 144) Afonso Candeias made the kick off and thus started the match. Frossos's Jorge Padilha got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gil Pimenta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rui Rego in the 7th minute. Jorge Padilha was extremely unlucky when he, in the 12th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Rui Rego sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jorge Padilha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 25 minutes of play, degeneration united's Basílio Santiago made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Micael Leiria was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 28 played minutes Frossos got a freekick which was hit by Rui Pires. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Candeias in the 31st minute of play forced Frossos's goalkeeper Micael Leiria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Micael Leiria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Candeias in the 35th minute of play. After 36 minutes, Diogo Vilaça mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Frossos and the degeneration united players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute, Dimas Noronha sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Frossos's Micael Leiria didn't even have to move. After 41 played minutes degeneration united got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Vilaverde. Afonso Candeias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Micael Leiria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jorge Padilha to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Basílio Santiago left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The degeneration united fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 59th minute, degeneration united's Basílio Santiago dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. In the 66th minute Rui Rego shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Pimenta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gil Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Padilha in the 72nd minute of play. Serafim Neves's late challenge caught a Frossos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serafim Neves helped the player get up and apologised. In the 73rd match minute, degeneration united was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafim Neves to maneuver through the defense. Basílio Santiago's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Micael Leiria read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Basílio Santiago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Basílio Santiago managed to get in a good position for a shot. degeneration united's supporters rose to their feet, but Basílio Santiago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Micael Leiria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The degeneration united supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing degeneration united would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
