Americo Fernendo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Joaquim Carmo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Coelho having to interfere. In the 24thth minute of the game Joaquim Carmo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C.United's José Coelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Cruzetinhos FC fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Cruzetinhos FC's Joaquim Carmo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 33 minutes into the match, Cruzetinhos FC's Bernardo Figueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Coelho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. José Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Figueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C.United's José Coelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Carmo in the 39th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Americo Fernendo to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Luís Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alípio Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquim Carmo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Coelho having to interfere. Bernardo Figueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but José Coelho made a huge save. After 70 minutes of play, F.C.United's Americo Fernendo made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alípio Nascimento was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cruzetinhos FC's Joaquim Carmo got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernardo Figueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Joaquim Carmo came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Cruzetinhos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Carmo couldn't finish the play. Joaquim Carmo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but José Coelho made a huge save. After a rather tough play, F.C.United's Basílio Guerreiro got a free kick in the 88th minute. Americo Fernendo scored 4-1 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alípio Nascimento, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 94th minute, Raul Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
