Jorge Oliveira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, Norberto Quaresma skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Trofa's zone, Jorge Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norberto Quaresma came out of the goal and Jorge Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 19 minutes, Horácio Almeida mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Trofa and the Chaves Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Trofa getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Horácio Almeida hit a great ball. Rodrigo Miranda struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Norberto Quaresma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chaves Futebol Clube. Rodrigo Mirandas short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Norberto Quaresma to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 25th minute Herberto Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Félix Végh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Rodrigo Miranda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Norberto Quaresma was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Chaves Futebol Clube's Félix Végh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herberto Porto in the 34th minute of play. Jorge Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Norberto Quaresma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39thth minute of the game Rodrigo Miranda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trofa's Norberto Quaresma was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hermes Fraga charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hermes Fraga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hermes Fraga hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Trofa's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Rodrigo Miranda 42 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Norberto Quaresma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Oliveira in the 52nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodrigo Miranda in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norberto Quaresma prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Oliveira in the 85th minute of play forced Trofa's goalkeeper Norberto Quaresma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herberto Porto's late challenge caught a Chaves Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
