Spectators: 6657 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tiago Marques kicked off to start the match. Ricardo Gonçalves took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Domingos Pinheiro. Domingos Pinheiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Macedo in the 12th minute of play forced Formigais's goalkeeper Cristiano Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Marques in the 15th minute of play forced Caixeiros FC's goalkeeper Domingos Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 22 played minutes Formigais got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Cruz. Formigais's Cristiano Branco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Formigais from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Macedo in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristiano Branco saved Formigais from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Tiago Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formigais's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Marques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Domingos Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Formigais's Cristiano Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Macedo in the 40th minute of play. Cristiano Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Macedo in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miguel Macedo to make the kick off. Tiago Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingos Pinheiro having to interfere. If Tiago Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the match, Formigais's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Macedo came free, but Cristiano Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, José Ferreira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristiano Branco was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 78th minute Tiago Marques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 80 minutes of play, Caixeiros FC's José Ferreira made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristiano Branco was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that José Ferreira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristiano Branco was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Formigais's zone, Miguel Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristiano Branco came out of the goal and Miguel Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 97 minutes, Tiago Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Formigais and the Caixeiros FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Caixeiros FC booed when Formigais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Caixeiros FC had won after a very even match.
