Spectators: 6657 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sebastião Graça started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Ricos F. C's zone, Sebastião Graça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Vale came out of the goal and Sebastião Graça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomás Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zacarias Mesquita in the 10th minute of the match. When Zacarias Mesquita came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Sporting fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zacarias Mesquita couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastião Graça in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomás Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Zacarias Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The long shot by Altino Palha in the 19th minute really tested Jesualdo Cesário's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Silvestre Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ricos F. C's protests and gave Silvestre Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th minute, Silvestre Loureiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting's goalkeeper Jesualdo Cesário, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 25th minute, Telmo Palha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Sporting's Sebastião Graça sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomás Vale narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Henrique Abrantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Jesualdo Cesário tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Henrique Abrantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Graça in the 38th minute of play forced Ricos F. C's goalkeeper Tomás Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Anjos got free with Jesualdo Cesário in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henrique Abrantes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 51st minute by Zacarias Mesquita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With his leg Tomás Vale managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Sporting's Zacarias Mesquita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tomás Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastião Graça in the 61st minute of the match. If Zacarias Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Sebastião Graça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomás Vale was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Zacarias Mesquita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tomás Vale. That made the score 0-2 in the 71 minute of play. Tomás Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastião Graça in the 74th minute of play. Tomás Vale was a little too slow when Sebastião Graça got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 0-3. Sebastião Graça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Tomás Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Zacarias Mesquita fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 85 minutes into the match, Ricos F. C's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastião Graça came free, but Tomás Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Luís Brás kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tomás Vale. That made the score 0-4 in the 90 minute of play. Sporting played a much better game than Ricos F. C and deserved their victory. The Ricos F. C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
