Spectators: 6730 (Terracing: 5050, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 20) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mateus Loureiro kicked off to start the match. Honorato Conde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amável Varela's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. When Artur Semedo fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vargem's protests and gave Artur Semedo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th minute, Artur Semedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 7 minutes into the game, Anselmo Mendes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Honorato Conde. Anselmo Mendes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Adelino Delgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Maciel in the 17th minute of the match. A collision led to SC Arao getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Rubim Serpa hit a great ball. Abel Barroso, 21 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Humberto Maciel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adelino Delgado having to interfere. Anselmo Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Honorato Conde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amável Varela did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Honorato Conde 28 minutes into the match. A collision led to SC Arao getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Moisés Vilalobos hit a great ball. When Vargem's Mateus Loureiro in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Arao's goalie prevented a goal. Mateus Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Adelino Delgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amável Varela made a kick off. Honorato Conde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubim Serpa in the 53rd minute of play. Anselmo Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateus Loureiro in the 63rd minute of play forced SC Arao's goalkeeper Adelino Delgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Pedro Lamego hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Humberto Maciel struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Adelino Delgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vargem. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Arao! After a rather tough play, SC Arao's Pedro Lamego got a free kick in the 70th minute. When Normando Estrela fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Arao's protests and gave Normando Estrela a yellow card for diving instead. If Anselmo Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 97 minutes, Humberto Maciel put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Adelino Delgado. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vargem had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
