Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caio FC's Jacinto Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Germano Varanda in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Breda's Zarco Pimenta got a free kick in the 20th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Breda's goal looked a bit too open when Máximo Torcato came free, but Alfredo Benevides reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredo Benevides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Máximo Torcato in the 23rd minute of play. Gil Ferro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacinto Santos having to interfere. Alfredo Benevides showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederico Matias in the 31st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Breda defense, Frederico Matias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfredo Benevides. The Breda fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfredo Benevides should have stopped the shot. If Gil Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gil Ferro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jacinto Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Germano Varanda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Máximo Torcato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Alfredo Benevides tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Máximo Torcato made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Zarco Pimenta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Breda's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caio FC the free kick. After 52 played minutes Breda got a freekick which was hit by Zarco Pimenta. In the 53rd minute, Máximo Torcato got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alfredo Benevides didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caio FC. The audience was convinced that Máximo Torcato's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredo Benevides was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. In the 72nd minute Máximo Torcato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Benevides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gil Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacinto Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Germano Varanda, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Breda's Alfredo Benevides proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Breda from getting a goal against them. Breda's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
