Corticada FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Sandro Braga scored to the left of an out of position Carlos Guerreiro, making the score, 1-0. After 6 minutes, Silvano Soares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corticada FC and the SLBacktown players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes Corticada FC got a freekick which was hit by Silvano Soares. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Braga in the 8th minute of play forced Corticada FC's goalkeeper Carlos Guerreiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute, Aparício Junqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hélio Raminhos hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Bruno Matias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabino Padilha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruno Matias came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Corticada FC's Gentil Quadros. But to his dismay, Gentil Quadros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Gentil Quadros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reginaldo Queiroga hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Sabino Padilha hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the game, Marcelo Ribas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corticada FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SLBacktown the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Corticada FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! The referee gave SLBacktown a penalty, 44 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Normando Coimbra, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Corticada FC's Carlos Guerreiro. 2-1. Bruno Matias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gentil Quadros in the 48th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Sandro Braga made the kick off in the second half. Luís Eanes charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Eanes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 53rd match minute, SLBacktown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Eanes to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Corticada FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Gentil Quadros hit a great ball. SLBacktown's Sandro Braga got his second yellow card of the match in the 60th minute. The referee ordered Sandro Braga off the ground. In the 61st minute, Sandro Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Gentil Quadros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Matias was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Gentil Quadros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corticada FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gentil Quadros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruno Matias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gentil Quadros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Bruno Matias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78thth minute of the game Gentil Quadros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SLBacktown's Bruno Matias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Corticada FC's Aldo Caeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes in the game, Gentil Quadros fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Bruno Matias having to interfere. Many of Corticada FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Corticada FC may have spent more time on the ball, but SLBacktown were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
