Spectators: 6660 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Artur Liberato started the match with the kick off. SDL FC's Egídio Monsanto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Gueifão in the 5th minute of play. After 5 minutes of play, BENFICA's Manuel Gueifão made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egídio Monsanto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Domingos Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Egídio Monsanto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teófilo Severiano hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as SDL FC's Cristóvão Gameiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sérgio Gaspar. That made the score 1-1 after 13 minutes of play. 16 minutes into the game, Artur Liberato was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SDL FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BENFICA the free kick. Artur Liberato hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Domingos Pereira took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Egídio Monsanto. Egídio Monsanto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 28th play minute Fabiano Semedo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sérgio Gaspar. 2-2. If Domingos Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of BENFICA booed when SDL FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristóvão Gameiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36thth minute of the game Manuel Gueifão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SDL FC's Egídio Monsanto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Domingos Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Gueifão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Egídio Monsanto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Pereira in the 41st minute of play. André Barbosa lost his temper 44 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 45th minute, André Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SDL FC's Pascoal Taborda couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 46th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for BENFICA. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manuel Gueifão made a kick off. SDL FC's Egídio Monsanto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save SDL FC from getting a goal against them. In the 53rd play minute Manuel Gueifão came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Egídio Monsanto. 2-3. After a rather tough play, SDL FC's Pascoal Taborda got a free kick in the 62nd minute. If Artur Liberato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sérgio Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Liberato in the 67th minute of the match. Sérgio Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristóvão Gameiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute Fabiano Semedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Gaspar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Gueifão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Monsanto having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Domingos Pereira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Egídio Monsanto was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. After 85 played minutes SDL FC got a freekick which was hit by Severiano Passos. The crowd rose to their feet as Domingos Pereira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Egídio Monsanto. That made the score 2-4 in the 92 minute of play. BENFICA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
