Mourenses were furious when Plácido Sesimbra was red carded, 9 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. When Márcio Curado fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mourenses's protests and gave Márcio Curado a yellow card for diving instead. Márcio Curado hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Hélder Delgado came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sálvio Vargas could save by the left post. If Eliseu Severiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeu Moura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mourenses. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isac Pinto was the one to do the kick off. If Pedro Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 57 minutes, Samuel Naer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mourenses's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel Naer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 59 minutes in the game Gaspar Aguiar did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Armindo Valente. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Hélder Delgado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Odeceixe FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hélder Delgado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sálvio Vargas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Mourenses booed when Odeceixe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Delgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isac Pinto might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amadeu Moura. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The tension between the Mourenses and the Odeceixe FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Samuel Naer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Isac Pinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Delgado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amadeu Moura read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Odeceixe FC's Hélder Barbosa got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Mourenses defense, Heitor Antunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sálvio Vargas. The Mourenses fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sálvio Vargas should have stopped the shot.
