Spectators: 6803 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) Ribalonga FC's Vicente Águas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Óscar Assunção made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Águas in the 5th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Pires in the 12th minute of play forced Chorosa FC's goalkeeper Óscar Assunção to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Óscar Assunção showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jordão Pestana, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. The supporters of Ribalonga FC booed when Chorosa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 played minutes, Ribalonga FC's Márcio Eiró shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Óscar Assunção came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ribalonga FC reached it. After 24 played minutes Chorosa FC got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Brito. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Águas in the 28th minute of play forced Chorosa FC's goalkeeper Óscar Assunção to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Chorosa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jordão Pestana came free, but Óscar Assunção reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bento Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bento Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentim Tavares having to interfere. Chorosa FC's Óscar Assunção played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isac Vidigal in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonso Moura to make the kick off. Afonso Moura took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valentim Tavares. Valentim Tavares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Óscar Assunção showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jordão Pestana in the 65th minute of the match. In the 80th minute Bento Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentim Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Severino Pires came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Ribalonga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Pires couldn't finish the play. Óscar Assunção made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Águas in the 91st minute of play. Many of Ribalonga FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ribalonga FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Chorosa FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
