In the 7th minute Flávio Paixão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Perdigão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Rebarbarians FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mateus Carreira came free, but Joaquim Moutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lourenço Gueifão spun around in front of the goal 13 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Rebarbarians FC's goal. In the 16th minute, Amadeu Lemos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Figueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rebarbarians FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cerradas the free kick. A collision led to Rebarbarians FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Osvaldo Figueira hit a great ball. Mateus Carreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute, Amadeu Lemos had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Lourenço Gueifão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Osvaldo Figueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Flávio Paixão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Rúben Falcão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cerradas and the Rebarbarians FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cerradas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Elias Casado was slow to take the kick. During this time Rebarbarians FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Elias Casado got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nuno Perdigão quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. During the 56th minute of the match Rúben Falcão completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rúben Falcão a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cerradas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 56th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 59 minutes, Rebarbarians FC's Elias Casado got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nuno Perdigão. Flávio Paixão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Perdigão having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldo Figueira got free with Nuno Perdigão in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Osvaldo Figueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Flávio Paixão came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Rebarbarians FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flávio Paixão couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Rebarbarians FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
