Alcino Casado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ValongoFC. In the 20th match minute, Lagoa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Micael Figueira to maneuver through the defense. Rafael Aleixo might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alcino Casado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rafael Aleixo ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Pádua in the 24th minute of play forced ValongoFC's goalkeeper Ricardo Santarém to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Aleixo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alcino Casado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Osvaldo Conde lost his temper 31 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Lagoa FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Artur Antunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Lagoa FC's zone, André Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alcino Casado came out of the goal and André Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rafael Aleixo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute, André Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd match minute, ValongoFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Vieira to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Santarém acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 66th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ilídio Baião. Rafael Aleixo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alcino Casado having to interfere.
