Veríssimo Semedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Dias in the 17th minute of play. In the 21st match minute, Surribas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leal Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of SC Braganca booed when Surribas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Paião didn't get a good kick on the ball. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Maurício Trindade. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
