The crowd rose to their feet as Adao's Wilson Gomes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Miguel Viana. That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. 13 minutes into the match, A.D.Sanjoanense's goalkeeper Miguel Viana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonardo Vidal. Januário Horta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiago Faro's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute, Leonardo Vidal made a precise shot to the right of Miguel Viana. A.D.Sanjoanense's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonardo Vidal got free with Miguel Viana in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Adao's Wilson Gomes in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye A.D.Sanjoanense's goalie prevented a goal. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Miguel Viana successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 32 minutes into the match, A.D.Sanjoanense's goalkeeper Miguel Viana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jarbas Águas. A.D.Sanjoanense's Miguel Viana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save A.D.Sanjoanense from getting a goal against them. Miguel Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson Gomes in the 36th minute of play. Miguel Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Leonardo Vidal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Miguel Viana made a huge save. Tiago Faro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 43 minutes into the match, A.D.Sanjoanense's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Gomes came free, but Miguel Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonardo Vidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Viana was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wilson Gomes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 47 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fernando Machado made a kick off. A.D.Sanjoanense's Miguel Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Gomes in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Tiago Faro managed to get in a good position for a shot. A.D.Sanjoanense's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Faro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Januário Horta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Fernando Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fernando Machado scored 3-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Januário Horta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A.D.Sanjoanense's Miguel Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Gomes in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Vidal in the 76th minute of play forced A.D.Sanjoanense's goalkeeper Miguel Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Januário Horta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Faro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miguel Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarbas Águas in the 82nd minute of play. Miguel Viana came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Adao's Jarbas Águas. But to his dismay, Jarbas Águas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. In the 87th minute Jarbas Águas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Adao fully deserved thier win.
