Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) The GDCHAVES fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when GDCHAVES's Bengt-Arne Vassenius looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Bengt-Arne Vassenius took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alexandre Anjos. Alexandre Anjos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Bengt-Arne Vassenius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Alexandre Anjos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 18 minutes into the game, GDCHAVES's Cristiano Pacheco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alexandre Anjos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The supporters of Azelhal booed when GDCHAVES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Pacheco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Azelhal's Alexandre Anjos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Brás in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute Cristiano Pacheco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Anjos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26thth minute of the game Vítor Brás who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Azelhal's Alexandre Anjos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Bengt-Arne Vassenius was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GDCHAVES's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Azelhal the free kick. João Teixeira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Cunha in the 30th minute. Pedro Trindade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute of the match, Fernando Cunha got a very nice opportunity to score, but João Teixeira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bengt-Arne Vassenius in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandre Anjos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Azelhal getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Diamantino Borges hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, José Campos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Teixeira. GDCHAVES's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Campos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bengt-Arne Vassenius to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Bengt-Arne Vassenius's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexandre Anjos was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Vítor Brás could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Alexandre Anjos made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt-Arne Vassenius in the 67th minute of play forced Azelhal's goalkeeper Alexandre Anjos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute, Pedro Trindade ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Teixeira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. 77 minutes into the game, Azelhal's Diamantino Borges nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Teixeira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. Alexandre Anjos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt-Arne Vassenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexandre Anjos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Pacheco in the 82nd minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, GDCHAVES's Vítor Brás nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alexandre Anjos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. Cristiano Pacheco charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristiano Pacheco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 91st match minute, GDCHAVES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Pacheco to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute of the match João Neves sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Teixeira skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the GDCHAVES defense, Pedro Trindade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Teixeira. The GDCHAVES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Teixeira should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Azelhal players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
