Lisbon Golden Eagles's Caio Chagas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Lisbon Golden Eagles from getting a goal against them. If Isidro Damásio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute Gil Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herberto Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gil Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herberto Teixeira having to interfere. Celtic do Porto's Herberto Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Maltez in the 45th minute of play. Aloísio Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Herberto Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adélio Lameiras made a kick off. Telmo Araújo's late challenge caught a Lisbon Golden Eagles's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Telmo Araújo helped the player get up and apologised. Telmo Araújo hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Isidro Damásio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Herberto Teixeira. That made the score 1-4 in the 54 minute of play. Adélio Lameiras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Herberto Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 61 minutes, Joel Maltez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lisbon Golden Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Maltez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Herberto Teixeira successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 77th minute of the match, Gonçalo Lima sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Caio Chagas showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. Caio Chagas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeu Veloso in the 79th minute of the match. Lisbon Golden Eagles played a much better game than Celtic do Porto and deserved their victory. The Celtic do Porto players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
