After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Club De Portugal's zone, Samuel Monsanto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Delgado came out of the goal and Samuel Monsanto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lúcio Pestana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but David Delgado made a huge save. After having played for 46 minutes, Luís Vilaverde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Tardariz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Vilaverde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Samuel Monsanto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving David Delgado. That made the score 1-0 in the 48 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
