Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Laércio Gentil started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, SC Freiras's Emanuel Gaspar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Honorato Varanda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, F.C.EUROPA's Gastão Madruga got a free kick in the 7th minute. After a defensive mix-up in SC Freiras's zone, Luís Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bento Queirós came out of the goal and Luís Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Laércio Gentil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 28 minutes into the match, Emanuel Gaspar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Honorato Varanda. F.C.EUROPA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emanuel Gaspar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Emanuel Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorato Varanda having to interfere. In the 39th match minute, F.C.EUROPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eusébio Barros in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Honorato Varanda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Eusébio Barros made the kick off in the second half. Márcio Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Bento Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 54 minutes into the match, F.C.EUROPA's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Barros came free, but Honorato Varanda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emanuel Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Eusébio Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Honorato Varanda was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. If Laércio Gentil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 74 minutes, Filinto Veríssimo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C.EUROPA and the SC Freiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SC Freiras booed when F.C.EUROPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filinto Veríssimo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Gaspar charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emanuel Gaspar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Emanuel Gaspar hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes SC Freiras got a freekick which was hit by José Cruz. After 86 played minutes SC Freiras got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Carneiro. 94 minutes into the game, Luís Silva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Bento Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
