After having played for 7 minutes, Mário Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varejeira 's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mário Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 13 minutes into the game, Mário Brito lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated David Setúbal. Luís Guerreiro hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. David Setúbal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mário Brito in the 20th minute. If Pedro Guarda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sepeda FC's zone, Gonçalo Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Setúbal came out of the goal and Gonçalo Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mário Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mário Brito succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 31st playminute. Manuel Moura took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miguel Setúbal. Miguel Setúbal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 3-1 became the score in the 43rd minute when Mário Brito elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Mário Brito spun around in front of the goal 47 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Sepeda FC's goal.

Varejeira 's Mário Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Joaquim Ferro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sepeda FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. After a defensive mix-up in Sepeda FC's zone, Mário Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Setúbal came out of the goal and Mário Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. Manuel Magalhães took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Setúbal. David Setúbal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. 77 minutes into the game, Mário Brito cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-2. David Setúbal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Humberto Tavares's late challenge caught a Sepeda FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humberto Tavares helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Varejeira 's Humberto Tavares got a free kick in the 81st minute. Miguel Setúbal acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 82nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Augusto Veiga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Brito in the 84th minute of play forced Sepeda FC's goalkeeper David Setúbal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Guarda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Setúbal having to interfere. In the 87thth minute of the game Mário Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sepeda FC's David Setúbal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. David Setúbal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Tavares in the 88th minute of the match. Mário Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. David Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute of the match Catarino Matos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Setúbal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Miguel Setúbal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Moura in the 94th minute of the match. Varejeira walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
