The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Sabrosa in the 7th minute of play forced Bifes FC's goalkeeper David Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Normando Garcez's late challenge caught a Bifes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 10th minute, Normando Garcez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the match, Bifes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Normando Garcez came free, but David Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Teixeira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manuel Sabrosa went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After the first half FCDiogo were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

David Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Sabrosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Manuel Sabrosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Teixeira having to interfere. With a little luck, Bifes FC's David Teixeira got control of the ball when Manuel Sabrosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st minute Bento Morais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Padilha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Bento Morais notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of FCDiogo's Miguel Padilha. Miguel Padilha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. FCDiogo were furious when Rafael Casado was red carded, 75 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in FCDiogo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 75th minute. Penalty! Manuel Sabrosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. David Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Simão Brandão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Teixeira. Bifes FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Simão Brandão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4.
