Spectators: 7107 (Terracing: 5440, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ricardo Matias started the match with the kick off. Octávio Bernardes came free in the 4th minute and tried to tip the ball over Albertino Veiga, but to the joy of SC Azambuja's supporters the ball went over. Octávio Bernardes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Albertino Veiga made a huge save. After 6 minutes SC Azambuja's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alfredo Palha who took care of the corner kick. Madalena FC's Alfredo Palha was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Albertino Veiga in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 12 minutes into the match, Madalena FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Matias came free, but Murilo Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Octávio Bernardes hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute of the match Jacinto Amaro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Murilo Queirós skillfully saved the ball. Murilo Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro Lisboa in the 19th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Álvaro Lisboa in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Murilo Queirós saved Madalena FC from getting behind. Alfredo Palha's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Albertino Veiga firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ivan Caeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertino Veiga having to interfere. Madalena FC's Octávio Bernardes got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Gama struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Albertino Veiga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Madalena FC. Murilo Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Cruz in the 46th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The crowd rose to their feet as Jacinto Amaro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Murilo Queirós. That made the score 0-1 in the 55 minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Madalena FC's Octávio Bernardes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albertino Veiga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Madalena FC's Ivan Caeiro got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 70th minute, Duarte Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Madalena FC's Murilo Queirós got control of the ball when Ricardo Matias tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 77th minute Jacinto Amaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Álvaro Lisboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredo Palha in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertino Veiga saved SC Azambuja from getting behind. Albertino Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Palha in the 84th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Alfredo Palha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 90th minute Alberto Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Lúcio Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The SC Azambuja supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Azambuja would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
