In the 19th minute Joaquim Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Castanheira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armindo Borba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filinto Campelo in the 21st minute of play. Cássio Castanheira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Antunes in the 23rd minute of play. Juventude de Lapas's Cássio Castanheira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Antunes in the 32nd minute of play. If Joaquim Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Daniel Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, Joaquim Silva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cássio Castanheira. Juventude de Lapas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joaquim Silva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Antunes to make the kick off. Cássio Castanheira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. SC Bagaco's Armindo Borba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filinto Campelo in the 57th minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Juventude de Lapas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Boaventura to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Juventude de Lapas's Cássio Castanheira got control of the ball when Joaquim Silva tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Juventude de Lapas players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
