The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With his leg Raul Albuquerque managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Arraiolos's Oliveira Guarda fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 67 minutes into the game, Alípio Jordão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Cruz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arraiolos the free kick. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Cruz! The goalkeeper, Raul Albuquerque, was totally fooled by Arraiolos's André Branco, who 68 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Arraiolos's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Lisboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raul Albuquerque breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Arraiolos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Arraiolos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
