The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With his leg Moisés Velasques managed to avoid a goal in the 5thth minute, when Capareiros FC's Sandro Anjos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Capareiros FC booed when Palacios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aprígio Severiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute, Sandro Anjos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13th match minute, Capareiros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier Veiga to maneuver through the defense. Sandro Anjos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moisés Velasques having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Bento Guerreiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palacios fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Capareiros FC's Alexandre Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bento Guerreiro in the 35th minute of play. When Celso Varanda came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Palacios fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celso Varanda couldn't finish the play. With his leg Moisés Velasques managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Capareiros FC's Sandro Anjos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The crowd rose to their feet as Nuno Alves kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Moisés Velasques. That made the score 1-2 in the 45 minute of play. After the first half Palacios were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bento Guerreiro was the one to do the kick off. Alexandre Miranda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Celso Varanda in the 52nd minute. Ivo Teles charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ivo Teles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Palacios getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Ivo Teles hit a great ball. Nuno Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moisés Velasques having to interfere. In the 60th minute Sandro Anjos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moisés Velasques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Palacios's Bento Guerreiro got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Emanuel Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moisés Velasques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Coimbra in the 73rd minute of play. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capareiros FC's goalkeeper Alexandre Miranda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Palacios's Aprígio Severiano got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 91st minute, Ivo Teles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Nuno Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Palacios's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
