In the 14th minute of the match, Amável Brito got a very nice opportunity to score, but Júlio Maltez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 17th minute Claudemiro Azeredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Maltez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Claudemiro Azeredo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Júlio Maltez was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Amável Brito struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Júlio Maltez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Veiga. With a little luck, TIGER TEAM's Júlio Maltez got control of the ball when Amável Brito tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Amável Brito left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Veiga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Norberto Sobral to make the kick off. Amável Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in TIGER TEAM's zone, Amável Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Maltez came out of the goal and Amável Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Júlio Maltez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudemiro Azeredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Altino Lobato kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudemiro Azeredo in the 61st minute of play forced TIGER TEAM's goalkeeper Júlio Maltez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amável Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Júlio Maltez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SC Veiga booed when TIGER TEAM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juvenal Amaral hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, SC Veiga's Octávio Bernardes tried to score from far away in the 91st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. SC Veiga had played much better football throughout.
