Abílio Martins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lisandro Santarém's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. In the 7th minute Vitória de Janes were awarded a corner. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lisandro Santarém couldn't finish the play. After having played for 8 minutes, Lisandro Santarém managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vitória de Janes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lisandro Santarém was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vitória de Janes's attentive Humberto Brites managed to snatch the ball when Amado Colaço made a throw-in in the 13th minute of the game. Hipólito Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abílio Martins having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Lisandro Santarém made a precise shot to the right of Abílio Martins. Mangueiras F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 26thth minute of the game Lisandro Santarém who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mangueiras F.C.'s Abílio Martins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Lisandro Santarém notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Mangueiras F.C.'s Abílio Martins. Abílio Martins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lisandro Santarém in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abílio Martins saved Mangueiras F.C. from getting behind. Lisandro Santarém recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 37 minutes into the game, Rogério Ponte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Abílio Martins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 41 minutes, Lisandro Santarém managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vitória de Janes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lisandro Santarém was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rogério Ponte might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abílio Martins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rogério Ponte ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Augusto Pádua to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Lisandro Santarém sped through Mangueiras F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Abílio Martins. Abílio Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armindo Flores, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lisandro Santarém who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Abílio Martins when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Lisandro Santarém struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Abílio Martins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vitória de Janes. Nivaldo Viana's late challenge caught a Vitória de Janes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nivaldo Viana helped the player get up and apologised. Nivaldo Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. When Artur Fiúza fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mangueiras F.C.'s protests and gave Artur Fiúza a yellow card for diving instead. After 73 played minutes Mangueiras F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Artur Fiúza. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mangueiras F.C.'s goalkeeper Abílio Martins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Vitória de Janes booed when Mangueiras F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Pádua didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the game, Lisandro Santarém lined in a short shot 0-6 behind a frustrated Abílio Martins. With his leg Abílio Martins managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Vitória de Janes's Lisandro Santarém fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 85th minute, Lisandro Santarém reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Abílio Martins. The goal made the score 0-7. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lisandro Santarém in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abílio Martins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vitória de Janes's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
