Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Hermes Paixão started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Januário Vigário fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ortigueira's protests and gave Januário Vigário a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ortigueira getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Januário Vigário hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ortigueira's zone, Alcino Freitas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Delfim Andrade came out of the goal and Alcino Freitas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Ortigueira's Januário Vigário got a free kick in the 6th minute. Couves do Douro's Alexandre Fraga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermes Paixão in the 10th minute of play. Alexandre Fraga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermes Paixão, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. If Hélio Pestana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Delfim Andrade didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alcino Freitas went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Alexandre Fraga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Januário Vigário, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Hélio Pestana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Delfim Andrade was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. In the 37th minute, Couves do Douro's Hélio Pestana ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Delfim Andrade. Delfim Andrade yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Ortigueira's Delfim Andrade proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Ortigueira from getting a goal against them. In the 44th minute Hermes Paixão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Fraga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hélio Pestana took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Delfim Andrade. Delfim Andrade dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When Couves do Douro's Hélio Pestana in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ortigueira's goalie prevented a goal. Couves do Douro's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Abílio Peralta 53 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-1. Hélio Pestana struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Delfim Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Couves do Douro. In the 62nd minute David Malheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Fraga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandre Fraga came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Ortigueira's Abílio Peralta. But to his dismay, Abílio Peralta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Alexandre Fraga made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Januário Vigário sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Couves do Douro booed when Ortigueira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Estrada didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 74 played minutes Ortigueira got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Modesto. Alexandre Fraga came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Ortigueira's Abílio Peralta. But to his dismay, Abílio Peralta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Couves do Douro! After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Alcino Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Couves do Douro's supporters rose to their feet, but Alcino Freitas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delfim Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hélio Pestana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Delfim Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute David Malheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Fraga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Delfim Andrade came out of the goal in the 99th minute to try and stop a shot by Couves do Douro's Valdemar Rocha. But to his dismay, Valdemar Rocha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Couves do Douro fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ortigueira had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
