Filinto Modesto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Alexandre Fraga made a huge save. Valdemar Rocha hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Belchior Gois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélio Pestana in the 35th minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Couves do Douro fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! In the 42nd minute, Malpica FC's Gregório Pádua ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alexandre Fraga. Alexandre Fraga yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. The audience was convinced that Hélio Pestana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Belchior Gois was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filinto Modesto got free with Alexandre Fraga in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Filinto Modesto was the one to do the kick off. After 50 played minutes Malpica FC got a freekick which was hit by Óscar Figueiras. Hélio Pestana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Belchior Gois made a huge save. 55 minutes into the match, Malpica FC's goalkeeper Belchior Gois had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Trigueiro. Belchior Gois stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hélio Pestana's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Couves do Douro's Alexandre Fraga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filinto Modesto in the 63rd minute of play. Alexandre Fraga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregório Pádua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute Filinto Modesto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Fraga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdemar Rocha got his second yellow card in the match during the 68th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Malpica FC booed when Couves do Douro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Couves do Douro defense, Gregório Pádua kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexandre Fraga. The Couves do Douro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexandre Fraga should have stopped the shot. Belchior Gois took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Pestana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Malpica FC's zone, Hélio Pestana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Belchior Gois came out of the goal and Hélio Pestana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Hélio Pestana, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 88 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Belchior Gois was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Hélio Pestana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Belchior Gois having to make a save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Couves do Douro players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Malpica FC.
