In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Clube Portugal's goalkeeper Mateus Regueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joaquim Faro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rubim Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube Portugal's goalkeeper Mateus Regueira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Cabral. If Joaquim Faro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 56th match minute, Sporting Clube Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentim Castanheira to maneuver through the defense. Mateus Regueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Cabral in the 58th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 60 minutes into the game, when Filipe Rodrigues put in a rough tackle. After 66 minutes of play, Cachoeira's Emanuel Cabral made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sporting Clube Portugal's Mateus Regueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Cabral in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute Amílcar Veiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateus Regueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amílcar Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Mateus Regueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cachoeira walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
