Raimundo Mourão was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 19th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gonçalo Graça in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alcides Paredes saved Damaia FC from getting behind. Vasco Zambujal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Almiro Estrela in the 23rd minute of the match. Yuri Tavares in the 31stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alcides Paredes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 32nd minute, Gonçalo Graça got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Roques FC's goal looked a bit too open when Germano Mendes came free, but Vasco Zambujal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almiro Estrela in the 38th minute of play forced Roques FC's goalkeeper Vasco Zambujal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Germano Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Damaia FC's goalkeeper Alcides Paredes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yuri Tavares. In the 44th minute, Reinaldo Álvares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Damaia FC's zone, Gonçalo Graça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alcides Paredes came out of the goal and Gonçalo Graça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Almiro Estrela blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vasco Zambujal having to make a save. When Damaia FC's Almiro Estrela in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Roques FC's goalie prevented a goal. The Roques FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Damaia FC were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Almiro Estrela to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almiro Estrela in the 56th minute of play forced Roques FC's goalkeeper Vasco Zambujal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Damaia FC's Germano Mendes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vasco Zambujal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Damaia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Yuri Tavares came free, but Alcides Paredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Almiro Estrela reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vasco Zambujal. The goal made the score 0-2. Yuri Tavares scored 1-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alcides Paredes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Almiro Estrela managed to get in a good position for a shot. Damaia FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Almiro Estrela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vasco Zambujal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Germano Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasco Zambujal having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonçalo Graça in the 93rd minute of play forced Damaia FC's goalkeeper Alcides Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Damaia FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Damaia FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
