Higino Caires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cassiano Azenha hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Falcão in the 15th minute of play forced Palhaca's goalkeeper Higino Caires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Estevão Candal fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palhaca's protests and gave Estevão Candal a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes Palhaca got a freekick which was hit by Estevão Candal. 18 minutes into the game, SC Ardaos's Alcides Guerreiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Higino Caires made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 21 minutes, Nicolas Falcão made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Palhaca's Higino Caires tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 25 minutes into the match, Palhaca's goal looked a bit too open when Micael Quintanilha came free, but Higino Caires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristóvão Barata charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristóvão Barata the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SC Ardaos's Cristóvão Barata got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute Jerónimo Azeredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Séverin Bertrand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Higino Caires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alcides Guerreiro in the 30th minute of play. Estevão Candal got his second yellow card in the match during the 31st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of SC Ardaos booed when Palhaca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Estevão Candal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alcides Guerreiro struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Higino Caires didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Ardaos. Higino Caires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alcides Guerreiro in the 40th minute of play. If Nicolas Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicolas Falcão to make the kick off. Micael Quintanilha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Higino Caires made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicolas Falcão in the 56th minute. A collision led to Palhaca getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Lázaro Caetano hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Durval Reis notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Palhaca's Higino Caires. Higino Caires was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Nicolas Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Higino Caires was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Alcides Guerreiro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alcides Guerreiro really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. The audience was convinced that Nicolas Falcão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Higino Caires was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. The supporters of SC Ardaos booed when Palhaca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerónimo Azeredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Ardaos's Enzo Caneira shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 79th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Higino Caires but with some difficulty. 83 minutes into the match, Palhaca's goalkeeper Higino Caires had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Falcão. In the 87th minute, Nicolas Falcão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Ardaos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Palhaca's Higino Caires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Falcão in the 92nd minute of play. When the final whistle sounded SC Ardaos left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Palhaca.
