Manuel Matos came out of the goal and Osvaldo Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manuel Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Medeiros in the 19th minute of the match. A collision led to SC Barrantes getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Aprígio Lessa hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Medeiros in the 27th minute of play forced SC Barrantes's goalkeeper Manuel Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Barrantes's Manuel Matos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save SC Barrantes from getting a goal against them. Xavier Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. If Valter Campos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

SC Barrantes's supporters rose to their feet, but Hélder Sardinha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Leiria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valter Campos in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ricardo Leiria, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 81st minute, Paulo Mourinho made a precise shot to the right of Manuel Matos. SC Barrantes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Manuel Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After 92 played minutes SC Barrantes got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Sardinha. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
