Silvério Torres was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 96th minute of the match Humberto Almeida sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Silvério Torres skillfully saved the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. portugal had played much better football throughout.
