A collision led to Abobara getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Carlos Benevides hit a great ball. Laureano Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandrino Abrantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Abobara's Adão Carreira tried to score from far away in the 35th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Alexandrino Abrantes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laureano Luz was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Alexandrino Abrantes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abobara's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandrino Abrantes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laureano Luz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandro Aleixo was the one to do the kick off. Hilário Pimentel was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. 80 minutes into the game, one of S.L.Benfica:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 99 minutes of play, Abobara's Alexandrino Abrantes made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
