With a couple of smart ball manuevers Márcio Nunes in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laércio Vilaça saved SC Caravelas from getting behind. When Dimas Viegas fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Caravelas's protests and gave Dimas Viegas a yellow card for diving instead. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Caravelas! After having played for 28 minutes, Matias Onofre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Casqueira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Onofre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Márcio Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laércio Vilaça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Onofre in the 33rd minute of the match. Adão Carvalheira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute, SC Caravelas's Adão Carvalheira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adão Carvalheira to make the kick off. Gentil Avelar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Matias Onofre notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of SC Caravelas's Laércio Vilaça.
