Spectators: 7140 (Terracing: 5356, Seating: 1642, VIP seats: 142) SC Montinhos's Leo Izotz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Jorge Matos notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Green Lions's Olívio Coimbra. Olívio Coimbra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Green Lions's Olívio Coimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Matos in the 7th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Jacinto Macena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leo Izotz charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leo Izotz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th match minute, SC Montinhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Izotz to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Matos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olívio Coimbra having to make a save. 23 minutes into the match, SC Montinhos's goalkeeper Joaquim Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Márcio Balsemão. If Leo Izotz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leo Izotz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Olívio Coimbra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to SC Montinhos getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Sebastião Guarda hit a great ball. Joaquim Sousa acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 30th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Reginaldo Azeredo. 32 minutes into the match, SC Montinhos's goalkeeper Joaquim Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Moita. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leo Izotz in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olívio Coimbra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jorge Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olívio Coimbra having to interfere. Olívio Coimbra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leo Izotz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Márcio Balsemão came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joaquim Sousa could save by the left post. Jacinto Macena hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. 48 minutes into the game, SC Montinhos's Leo Izotz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olívio Coimbra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After the first half SC Montinhos were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matias Gois to strike the kick off in the second half. SC Montinhos's Joaquim Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Gois in the 55th minute of play. Jorge Matos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Olívio Coimbra made a huge save. After 58 minutes, Reginaldo Azeredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Green Lions and the SC Montinhos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th minute, one of Green Lions:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Green Lions. The goalkeeper, Olívio Coimbra, was totally fooled by SC Montinhos's Jaime Delgado, who 59 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Joaquim Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Gois in the 63rd minute of play. If Leo Izotz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Izotz in the 74th minute of play forced Green Lions's goalkeeper Olívio Coimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquim Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matias Gois, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquim Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Moita in the 78th minute of play. If Jorge Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, SC Montinhos's Leo Izotz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olívio Coimbra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leo Izotz might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olívio Coimbra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leo Izotz ran back to his position shaking his head. Jorge Matos scored 1-4 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Olívio Coimbra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mateo Aureo charged in rather forcefully in the 98th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mateo Aureo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mateo Aureo hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. The Green Lions supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Montinhos's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Montinhos.
