Hélder Moniz's late challenge caught a Benfica Aguia Sp's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélder Moniz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Meieiras's Hélder Moniz got a free kick in the 27th minute. Fábio Campos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregório Brito having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Benfica Aguia Sp's zone, Vítor Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregório Brito came out of the goal and Vítor Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes in the game Aldo Modesto did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Isidro Torcato. Gregório Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fábio Campos, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. If Manuel Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gregório Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fábio Campos struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fábio Campos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hélder Moniz kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Fábio Campos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Gregório Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vítor Teixeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vítor Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fábio Campos succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 66th playminute. Gregório Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 74th match minute, Meieiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélder Moniz to maneuver through the defense. If Fábio Campos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basílio Vides hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the game, Meieiras's Vítor Teixeira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gregório Brito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When Emílio Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meieiras's protests and gave Emílio Amaral a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Benfica Aguia Sp booed when Meieiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emílio Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Benfica Aguia Sp's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Campos came free, but Gregório Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jesualdo Perdigão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fábio Campos in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gregório Brito saved Benfica Aguia Sp from getting behind. Fábio Campos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gregório Brito came out and tried to block the shot, but Fábio Campos slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 99th minute. When the final whistle sounded Meieiras left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Benfica Aguia Sp.
