Sérgio Guerreiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jordão Maltez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sérgio Guerreiro ran back to his position shaking his head. 13 minutes into the match, Dark Wolves FC's goalkeeper Jordão Maltez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bento Andrade. Bento Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Jordão Maltez made a huge save. Bento Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jordão Maltez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseu Sequeira in the 26th minute of play forced Santana's goalkeeper Jorge Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jordão Maltez was a little too slow when Bernardo Ferro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 1-0. Bento Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordão Maltez having to interfere. In the 41st match minute, Dark Wolves FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Plácido Jesus to maneuver through the defense. If Jorge Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 48 minutes, Jordão Maltez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernardo Ferro to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cláudio Infante in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorge Dantas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 56 minutes into the game, Cláudio Infante was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dark Wolves FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santana the free kick. Bento Andrade took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jordão Maltez. Jordão Maltez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseu Sequeira got free with Jorge Dantas in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 71 played minutes Santana got a freekick which was hit by Bento Andrade. 74 minutes into the match, Santana's goal looked a bit too open when João Menezes came free, but Jorge Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Alves's late challenge caught a Dark Wolves FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Alves helped the player get up and apologised. Jorge Alves hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santana's goalkeeper Jorge Dantas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 82 minutes into the match, Santana's Bento Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jordão Maltez narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
