Domingos Viveiros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Afonso Dantas made a huge save. Ilídio Valverde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosme Ponce, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. A collision led to Barcelos FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Jordão Sampaio hit a great ball. After 14 minutes of play Barcelos FC's Jordão Sampaio was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Cosme Ponce hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 17th match minute, Barcelos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zarco Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. Domingos Viveiros struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Afonso Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barcelos FC. 21 minutes into the game, Paulo Matias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lousada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barcelos FC the free kick. Paulo Matias kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 25th minute of the match Júlio Coimbra shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ilídio Valverde showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cosme Ponce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hipólito Laureano kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Ilídio Valverde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosme Ponce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the match, Domingos Viveiros notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Lousada's Afonso Dantas. Afonso Dantas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Lousada's goalkeeper Afonso Dantas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, Lousada's goal looked a bit too open when Rúben Caiado came free, but Afonso Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Cosme Ponce made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Lousada's zone, Rúben Caiado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Dantas came out of the goal and Rúben Caiado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cosme Ponce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosme Ponce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ilídio Valverde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cláudio Gonçalves scored 1-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ilídio Valverde, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Barcelos FC booed when Lousada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cosme Ponce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 80 minutes into the match, Lousada's goal looked a bit too open when Domingos Viveiros came free, but Afonso Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Heitor Abrantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Domingos Viveiros in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Afonso Dantas saved Lousada from getting behind. Afonso Dantas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rúben Caiado, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Viveiros in the 93rd minute of play forced Lousada's goalkeeper Afonso Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
