Raul Vilhena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Jorge Assunção made a huge save. 29 minutes into the match, valadim's goal looked a bit too open when João Tristão came free, but Jorge Assunção reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, valadim's goalkeeper Jorge Assunção had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raul Vilhena. If Jorge Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lameiros's Ricardo Vilarinho suffered a sore thigh after 44 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 45th match minute, valadim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Gomes to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Faria to make the kick off. Jorge Assunção showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raul Vilhena, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Jorge Assunção took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Abrantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the game, Pedro Mesquita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lameiros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave valadim the free kick. In the 55th match minute, Lameiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. José Farias short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Jerónimo Nascimento to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Domingues got free with Jerónimo Nascimento in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The long shot by António Gomes in the 62nd minute really tested Jerónimo Nascimento's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 67th minute Tolek Gall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerónimo Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tolek Gall took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jerónimo Nascimento. Jerónimo Nascimento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. A collision led to valadim getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Sandro Marques hit a great ball. Pedro Mesquita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jorge Assunção. valadim's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tolek Gall struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Jerónimo Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for valadim. Jerónimo Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Faria in the 82nd minute of play. Jorge Domingues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jerónimo Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute of the match António Gomes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jerónimo Nascimento skillfully saved the ball. If Jorge Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Lameiros players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
