Spectators: 6664 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1664, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Cesário Garcez kicked off to start the match. After 5 minutes of play, Lamedo's Sidónio Delgado made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Aleixo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lamedo's Cesário Garcez got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Lisandro Setúbal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.L.Benfica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Lisandro Setúbal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Januário Amado having to interfere. Nicolas Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Januário Amado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nicolas Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Januário Amado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Setúbal in the 23rd minute of play. Januário Amado came out of the goal and Lisandro Setúbal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute, Nicolas Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.L.Benfica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Mateus Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sidónio Delgado got free with José Aleixo in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. S.L.Benfica's José Aleixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesário Garcez in the 44th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When Cesário Garcez fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lamedo's protests and gave Cesário Garcez a yellow card for diving instead. After 51 played minutes Lamedo got a freekick which was hit by Cesário Garcez. After a defensive mix-up in Lamedo's zone, Nicolas Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Januário Amado came out of the goal and Nicolas Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lamedo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! Nicolas Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lisandro Setúbal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Januário Amado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Lamedo's goalkeeper Januário Amado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Montenegro. In the 72nd minute, Sidónio Delgado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Nicolas Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the S.L.Benfica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolas Montenegro couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicolas Montenegro got free with Januário Amado in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Lisandro Setúbal came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the S.L.Benfica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lisandro Setúbal couldn't finish the play. Jorge Palha kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, S.L.Benfica's Jairo Linhares got a free kick in the 91st minute. José Aleixo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sidónio Delgado's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. If Nicolas Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Lamedo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. S.L.Benfica were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
