Dimas Caetano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Moniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. António Moniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dimas Caetano having to interfere. Dário Granja could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Alberto Teixeira made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Telmo Vilar took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Alberto Teixeira to make any attempt to save it. After 73 minutes, Alexandre Aleixo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Brandiao and the Vimeira players grew even worse after the yellow card.
