To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 11 minutes into the match, Petropolitano's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Magalhães came free, but Sebastião Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Gueifão kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Joaquim Domingues scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sebastião Vieira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sebastião Vieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Domingues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the match, Petropolitano's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Domingues came free, but Sebastião Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernesto Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastião Bessa having to interfere. Ernesto Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 31 minutes of play, Drizes's Afonso Moutinho made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastião Vieira was left in no man's land by his defense there! 35 minutes into the match, Petropolitano's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Moutinho came free, but Sebastião Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37thth minute of the game Mário Nascimento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Drizes's Sebastião Bessa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Filipe Moutinho hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After having played for 39 minutes, Bernardo Assunção managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Petropolitano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Assunção was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sebastião Vieira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Domingues in the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Eusébio Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55 played minutes Drizes got a freekick which was hit by Xavier Oliveira. Sebastião Vieira came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Drizes's Joaquim Domingues. But to his dismay, Joaquim Domingues quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 63 minutes into the game, Eusébio Leal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Drizes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Petropolitano the free kick. A collision led to Drizes getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Eusébio Leal hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Xavier Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ernesto Monteiro came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Petropolitano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Monteiro couldn't finish the play. Petropolitano's Sebastião Vieira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Petropolitano from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd minute Joaquim Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastião Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Drizes booed when Petropolitano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Assunção didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernesto Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Sebastião Bessa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Petropolitano's Sebastião Vieira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Petropolitano from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Petropolitano's Daniel Almeida got a free kick in the 88th minute. Oliveira Figueiredo, 89 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Fernando Gueifão came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Petropolitano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Gueifão couldn't finish the play. Drizes's Eusébio Leal got his second yellow card of the match in the 95th minute. The referee ordered Eusébio Leal off the ground. Eusébio Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Chants of Drizes echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Petropolitano had held the ball for most of the match.
