The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Evandro Amaral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jarbas Noronha having to make a save. When Lúcio Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the SC Donoes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Paiva couldn't finish the play. Manuel Gaspar hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Pereira made a kick off. Vicente Álvares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Luís Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, SC Donoes's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Álvares came free, but Jarbas Noronha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
