Miguel Avelar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Osório, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nélson Falcão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reginaldo Vilela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abílio Fernandes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Abílio Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nélson Falcão, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Abílio Fernandes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sérgio Vale's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute, Miguel Moutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the match, Flávio Osório had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Miguel Avelar. SC Outinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flávio Osório was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 22 minutes into the match, Madeira S.A.D.'s goal looked a bit too open when Nélson Falcão came free, but Abílio Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Outinho's Nélson Falcão got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Miguel Avelar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flávio Osório, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Valentim Pestana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Avelar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flávio Osório in the 40th minute of the match. Sérgio Vale's late challenge caught a Madeira S.A.D.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sérgio Vale helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Outinho's Sérgio Vale got a free kick in the 41st minute. SC Outinho's Miguel Avelar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Osório in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute Flávio Osório shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Avelar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, SC Outinho's Miguel Avelar got control of the ball when Valentim Pestana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Flávio Osório sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentim Pestana in the 58th minute of play forced SC Outinho's goalkeeper Miguel Avelar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nélson Falcão got free with Abílio Fernandes in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes into the game, Nélson Falcão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Abílio Fernandes. Nélson Falcão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 65 minutes into the match, SC Outinho's goal looked a bit too open when Valentim Pestana came free, but Miguel Avelar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Madeira S.A.D. fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when Madeira S.A.D.'s Flávio Osório looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of SC Outinho booed when Madeira S.A.D. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Pegado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abílio Fernandes was a little too slow when Nélson Falcão got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 2-2. SC Outinho's Miguel Avelar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Pegado in the 77th minute of play. Nicolas Pegado kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Paulino Bento made a great header on SC Outinho's corner, it was just that Madeira S.A.D.'s Abílio Fernandes managed to reach the ball for a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reginaldo Vilela in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abílio Fernandes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
