Eduardo Gomes might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Coelho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eduardo Gomes ran back to his position shaking his head. Mesquinhata's Eduardo Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sandro Coimbra's late challenge caught a SC Ramires's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandro Coimbra helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mesquinhata getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Sandro Coimbra hit a great ball. After 18 played minutes Mesquinhata got a freekick which was hit by Xavier Amaral. Sandro Coimbra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Ramires's João Coelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Gomes in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Domingos Azevedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Ramires's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mesquinhata the free kick. After a rather tough play, SC Ramires's Domingos Azevedo got a free kick in the 27th minute. After 31 played minutes SC Ramires got a freekick which was hit by Mário Guarda. 37 minutes into the game, Mesquinhata's Rui Magalhães nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Coelho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Rui Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Coelho having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Mesquinhata's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Cláudio Monteiro scored to the left of an out of position Álvaro Moura, making the score, 1-1. In the 55th minute, Duarte Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rui Magalhães struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. João Coelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mesquinhata. After 68 minutes of play, Mesquinhata's Eduardo Gomes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Coelho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Duarte Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Álvaro Moura made a huge save. If Eduardo Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Álvaro Moura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cláudio Monteiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Mesquinhata were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SC Ramires for a fine match.
