In the 14th minute, Thiago Cardoso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC CACEM fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Viriato Nunes took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albertino Corte-Real. Albertino Corte-Real dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After having played for 21 minutes, Nuno Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC CACEM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Viriato Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC CACEM's supporters rose to their feet, but Viriato Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albertino Corte-Real breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Francisco Tavares's late challenge caught a Benfica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. A very good opportunity. Viriato Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertino Corte-Real having to interfere. Nuno Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 97 minutes, Francisco Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC CACEM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Tavares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
